San Carlos Dive Trip 2020-09

Well, it’s been a while since I have made a post. It was as if I fell off the face of the earth. The truth is, the trips have been canceled and so we haven’t been scuba diving. However, we finally were able to go on a dive trip this September for the Labor Day Weekend! We met up with Alexander’s / Dive Shop, Too, and Sierra Vista Scuba, and dove two days at San Pedro Island, and one day at local dive sites.

San Pedro Nolasco Island, Sonora, Mexico

Saturday and Sunday were spent diving at the island.

  • North Point – San Carlos
  • The Rookery
  • Bahia Elena
  • Waterfall Rock

The visibility was excellent and the water temperature was in the mid 80’s! We were met by curious sea lions throughout each dive. They too haven’t seen divers in months, and to many of the new pups, we were their first encounter. The sea life has also flourished, as there were large schools of sardines, green morays, balloon fish, flatworms and even a couple of green sea turtles.

San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico

Monday was spent doing a couple of local dive sites.

  • Eagle Rock
  • Martini Cove

The visibility was not the same as the island, but nevertheless we saw schools of fish, octopi, sea urchins and yellow rays. The water temperature was about 88 to 90 degrees, which felt pretty warm.

Take a look at the pictures.
